Structural and Utility Concrete Work for Residential and Commercial Properties in Tampa Bay

Concrete Services

Concrete is the foundation of most of what gets built in Florida - literally. Slabs, steps, retaining walls, and flatwork all depend on proper installation to perform over time in heat, humidity, and heavy rain.

When the underlying concrete work is done right, everything built on top of it holds. When it isn't, the problems compound.

Perkins Concrete Inc. has been handling structural and utility concrete work across the Tampa Bay area since 1989. We work with homeowners, contractors, and commercial property owners throughout Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties.

What We Do

Whether you need a new slab, a set of entry steps, a retaining wall, or concrete repair on an existing structure, Perkins Concrete handles every phase: site evaluation, forming, pouring, finishing, and curing. Serving Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties.

Concrete Slabs

Slabs are the starting point for garages, sheds, additions, equipment pads, and utility structures. A slab that isn't properly formed, reinforced, and graded causes problems for everything built on it. We install slabs sized and spec'd for the intended load, with proper sub-base preparation and drainage grading from the start.

Concrete Steps & Stoops

Steps and entry stoops handle daily traffic and take the full force of Florida weather. We install and replace concrete steps for residential and commercial properties, including landings and entry platforms. Work includes proper forming for consistent rise and run, and finish options to match or complement the surrounding surface.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls manage grade changes and prevent soil erosion on properties where elevation shifts create drainage or stability issues. We build concrete retaining walls engineered for the load and soil conditions on site. A wall that isn't built to handle the pressure behind it fails — we assess site conditions before recommending a design.

Concrete Repair

Cracked, settled, or spalled concrete doesn't always require full replacement. We assess the underlying cause before recommending a repair approach. Surface-only damage is handled differently than structural cracking or settling caused by sub-base failure. We tell you which situation you have and what the right fix is.

The Perkins Concrete Difference

What Sets a Good Concrete Installation Apart

Most concrete failures in Florida trace back to two things: inadequate sub-base preparation and drainage that wasn't designed into the project from the start. Concrete placed over unstable or improperly compacted soil settles unevenly. Flatwork that isn't graded correctly holds water, which accelerates cracking and undermines the base over time.

Every Perkins Concrete project starts with a site evaluation. We look at soil conditions, existing drainage, and grade before forming or pouring anything. That process applies to every job regardless of size.

Common Questions

  • It depends on what caused the damage. Surface wear and minor cracking can often be addressed without full replacement. Settling, structural cracking, or drainage failures usually indicate a sub-base problem that a surface repair won't solve. We assess the cause during the site evaluation and give you a straight answer before recommending a scope.

  • Yes. We work with general contractors, builders, and developers on both residential and commercial projects. Commercial and contractor estimates are provided within 10 days.

  • Yes. Garage slabs, shed pads, and addition slabs are common projects. We size and reinforce the slab based on the intended use and load requirements.

Warren Perkins put his name on this company on day one because the work was supposed to mean something. Forty-seven years and more than 12,000 projects later, that hasn't changed.

We're a veteran owned licensed contractor (License #CPC1457580) and we back every job with a workmanship warranty. Free in-person estimates are available within 36 hours for residential projects and within 10 business days for commercial work.
