Concrete and Hardscape Renovation for Existing Pools in Tampa Bay

Pool Remodeling

Most pool remodeling projects don't start because something broke. They start because a pool deck has become outdated, a coping edge is cracking, the surrounding hardscape doesn't match the rest of the property, or a homeowner is finally doing the backyard renovation they've been putting off.

Perkins Concrete Inc. handles the concrete and hardscape side of pool remodeling for residential and commercial properties across Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties. If your project involves the surfaces, structure, or surround of an existing pool, we can assess what needs to be done and give you a clear picture of what's achievable.

What We Do

Whether you're replacing a worn deck, repairing coping, correcting drainage, or updating the full pool surround, Perkins Concrete handles every phase: evaluation, demolition, installation, and finishing. Our work covers concrete and hardscape — if your project also involves pool shell resurfacing, interior finishes, waterline tile, or equipment and plumbing, we'll tell you upfront what's ours and help you coordinate the rest. Serving Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco Counties.

Pool Deck Removal & Replacement

If your existing deck is cracked, settling, or just past the point where repairs make sense, we handle full tear-out and replacement. We assess what's underneath first — sub-base condition, drainage, and any settling issues — before anything goes back down.

Pool Coping Repair & Replacement

Coping is the cap material along the edge of the pool shell. It takes constant water exposure, foot traffic, and sun, and it deteriorates over time. We repair and replace concrete and paver coping, including re-bonding work where coping has begun to separate from the pool shell.

Deck Resurfacing

If the structure underneath your existing deck is sound but the surface is worn, stained, or has become too hot underfoot, resurfacing is a cost-effective option. We apply new texture and finish coatings that restore appearance and improve safety without a full tear-out.

Hardscape Integration

Pool remodels often happen alongside broader backyard renovations. If you're adding a patio, walkway, outdoor kitchen pad, or fire pit area while updating your pool surround, we handle all of the concrete and paver work as part of a single project.

Drainage Corrections

Improperly graded pool decks are one of the most common problems we see in remodeling work. Water that pools at deck edges or runs toward the house foundation causes long-term structural damage. We correct drainage issues as part of remodel work or as a standalone service.

The Perkins Concrete Difference

What Sets a Good Remodel Apart

Pool remodeling surfaces more problems than new installations do. What's underneath an existing deck — the sub-base condition, drainage grade, and any settling that's happened over time — determines whether new material will hold up or fail the same way the old material did.

Every Perkins Concrete remodel starts with a site evaluation, not a sales call. We assess what's there before we recommend a scope. If there's a drainage problem or a sub-base issue, we tell you before work begins, not after something goes wrong mid-project.

You work directly with the owners throughout. One point of contact, consistent communication, and a single point of accountability from evaluation to final walkthrough.

Veteran-owned. Licensed. Workmanship warranty. Serving Tampa Bay since 1989.

Common Questions

  • It depends on what's underneath. A surface that looks bad but has a stable, well-graded sub-base is often a good resurfacing candidate. If there's settling, drainage problems, or significant cracking that goes deeper than the surface layer, replacement is usually the better investment. We assess that during the site evaluation and tell you what we find before recommending a scope.

  • In many cases, yes. We evaluate the existing material, texture, and color during the estimate and let you know what's achievable. An exact match isn't always possible depending on age and material, but we'll be straightforward about what the finished result will look like.

  • Yes. We work with HOAs, apartment complexes, and commercial property owners. Commercial estimates are scheduled within 10 days.

  • Yes. Coping replacement is a standalone service. We assess whether the surrounding deck condition warrants additional work and let you know, but we don't require a full remodel to replace coping.

Why Perkins

What Sets Us Apart

Perkins Concrete has been family-owned and operated in the Tampa Bay area since 1989. When you hire us, you work directly with the owners — not a project manager, not a crew foreman. Warren Perkins put his name on this company on day one because the work was supposed to mean something. Forty-seven years and more than 12,000 projects later, that hasn't changed.

We're a veteran owned licensed contractor (License #CPC1457580) and we back every job with a workmanship warranty. Free in-person estimates are available within 36 hours for residential projects and within 10 business days for commercial work.
